UK Military Facilities to Host Asylum Seekers in Effort to Terminate Hotel Use
Numerous asylum seekers could be placed in defense installations as the administration aims to terminate the use of hotels.
Discussions are ongoing regarding the use of two sites - a facility in the Scottish region and another in the southern England - for housing for nine hundred males.
The Prime Minister has ordered Home Office and Military Ministry authorities to accelerate work to find proper military sites.
The ruling party has vowed to end the operation of asylum hotels, which have consumed billions in funds and turned into a focal point for anti-asylum seeker rallies.
Proposed Defense Sites
Asylum seekers may be accommodated in the Cameron Barracks in the Scottish city and Crowborough army training camp in southeastern England by the final days of the upcoming month.
Commercial facilities, interim housing and vacant properties are also being examined for potential use.
Government Statements
Administration officials indicated that every facility would meet wellbeing requirements.
"Our administration is deeply troubled at the scale of individuals without proper documentation and temporary hotel accommodations."
"Our administration will close every asylum hotel. Efforts are advancing rapidly, with more suitable sites being identified to ease pressure on local areas and decrease asylum costs."
Present Housing Data
Nearly 32,000 asylum seekers are currently being accommodated in hotel facilities, representing a reduction from a maximum of more than fifty-six thousand in the previous year.
A current assessment found that billions of taxpayers' money had been "misused" on refugee housing.
Earlier Defense Site Usage
Two previous defense facilities - the Wethersfield facility in the eastern county and the Napier facility in the southern county - are already being utilized to accommodate asylum seekers after being commissioned under the former government.
The Prime Minister commented on the circumstances, indicating: "The government is resolved to close each temporary accommodation facility. I can't tell you how frustrated and angry we are that we've been left with a mess as significant as these developments by the last government."
